Overall the 034 kit worked very well in replacing the broken bits of the stock system which was broken in the plastic tube right angle area.
in getting the stock parts out of the way, it was a bit difficult to remove the attachment nut and stud from the back of the cylinder head area due to the limited work area. That nut and stud holds the stock metal tube which zigs upwards along the back.
One trick to making the 034 aluminum end seat in the block area with the OEM black metal clip is make sure it's seating by using a long screwdriver on the lip to tap it in place and then to grind the clip a small amount in the front to make it possible to get started (ramp it up and make it a bit thinner). Otherwise, the plastic clip as a dealership replacement is the way to go.
Great kit--only bought the bottom breather hose and the T hose--an 034 rep was kind enough to provide an aluminum plug to block off where the PCV valve originally sits. Made running hoses for my catch can SO much easier. Note that, as the below commenter noted, the o-ring is more or less the same size, if a tad bit thicker than the OEM one, so the retaining clip will stick out a little bit more than normal. However, I've put a few thousand miles on without touching it and haven't had any issues.
On the issue with the dipstick tube, you don't need to remove it, but removing the coolant expansion tank (leaving the coolant hoses still attached) and removing the throttle body hose will give you more than enough room to work with. However, if you're still rocking the original dipstick tube from the factory, it might not be a bad idea to replace it anyway. Just make sure you don't get any plastic chunks in the oil pan!
Overall a very high quality kit and would definitely recommend it.
Complaints first - 1. the price was lowered by $13.50 right after I ordered mine. 2. The kit should come with a new oil dipstick tube. There is no way to avoid breaking the oil dipstick tube unless you do the job on a partially assembled engine at he factory. 3. A thinner o-ring (1/16 in thick) should be included in case one cannot push down hard enough to get the retaining spring over the top of the manifold vent. 4. Another retaining spring should be included that can be pushed all the way in. The factory retaining spring is ok for the plastic breather vent hose, but not for the aluminum fitting in the kit. I installed mine without the o ring and will look for an alternative seal.
Praise: This kit is a lot less complex and more durable than that mess installed at he factory.
Took me all day Saturday to install. Now I have to order a replacement nt dipstick tube to complete the job. Until then I covered the dipstick opening with 3/4 inch heater hose.
