We're proud to announce the availability of the Density Line Engine Mount Pair for MkV & MkVI Chassis Volkswagen and 8P & 8J Chassis Audi models!
034Motorsport's Density Line Mounts are the new standard in comfort and performance. Our mounts are redesigned with performance in mind, and manufactured from high-durometer rubber for increased performance and durability, without sacrificing comfort. Density Line Mounts are void-free and fluid-free, eliminating the slop associated with the factory mounts.
The Street Density Engine Mount Pair is manufactured from 60 durometer rubber, which is approximately 35% stiffer than stock. Since the mounts are also void-free and solid-filled, the resulting mount is approximately 60% stiffer than stock. The cast aluminum mount bodies have also been redesigned to cope with the added stress of spirited driving.
The result is greatly reduced drivetrain slop, crisper shifting, and minimal wheel hop, without any significant increase in noise, vibration, or harshness (NVH) inside of the cabin. These mounts are a completely re-engineered performance solution, not just inserts for use with the factory mounts.

High-Durometer Rubber vs. Polyurethane:
Density Line Mounts are manufactured from high-durometer rubber instead of polyurethane for a number of reasons. While vulcanized rubber mounts are more expensive to prototype due to increased complexity of manufacturing and high initial tooling costs, rubber is inherently better than polyurethane as a damping medium for mounts and bushings.
Rubber is able to deal with stress under both tension and compression, while polyurethane mounts rely on the damping medium to be effective only under compression. Rubber is also excellent in shear, where polyurethane is ineffective, making it ideal for control arm bushings that apply a shear force to the bushing during articulation.
Rubber does not pack and wear like polyurethane does, which ultimately results in a long-lasting part with consistent performance and comfort.
Street Density vs. Track Density:
We recommend Street Density Mounts for all daily-driven vehicles. They offer a significant increase in performance with a minimal increase in NVH transfer into the cabin. Track Density Mounts are recommended for purpose-built track cars, or those who do not mind significantly increased engine noise and vibration in the cabin.
These mounts (paired with the billet insert) are PERFECT for my 2010 GTI. I switched to these mounts from another company's Stage 1 setup and I couldn't be happier. Install is super simple and the build quality is excellent.
Over the years I've had different setups across different vehicles and this is by far the best. I started with an MK5 Jetta WE and two different HPA pucks, but the NVH was unbearable, even the 75A durometer version.
FF to my MK6. I picked up the BFI full Stage 1 (motor, trans, and insert) and I was very disappointed with the outcome. NVH in the cabin at idle and takeoff were just too much. I removed the insert, still no good. Bought the 034 billet insert, no change. Then I swapped out the motor mount back to stock and it was better, but shifts were sloppy. Finally, after much research and forum hunting, I got the 034 street density and all my problems were solved. I feel excellent connection to the drivetrain and engine without the NVH. Exhaust tone is marginally more aggressive. I would highly recommend this kit!
These mounts are exactly what I was looking for (Street Density). Previously I had purchased the ECS engine mount and after 6k miles of unbearable vibrations/rattles I thought adding a Fluidampr would help. Nope. The car was still too uncomfortable for passengers. I could not hear my Uni intake or TT exhaust unless I was at WOT. It also ruined my transmission mount in those miles (the car only has 30k on it). So I contacted 034 and Stefan worked with me to confirm that these mounts would work for the Gen3 GLI since they were not listed before.
Immediately after installing them I was completely satisfied with my decision. No more vibrations! Compared to my ECS mount, here are the differences I noticed:
1) Power is delivered more immediately and less jerky
2) Gear changes are much more smooth
3) Less wheel spin in 2nd gear
4) No more boost gauge buzzing!
5) 100x reduction in vibrations
6) Less engine bay noise
7) OEM look and installation was much easier
Overall for a daily I would recommend the 034 kit (SD), especially to someone who is worried about adding any extra vibrations. This kit has outperformed the ECS engine mount in every way and I could not be happier! Thanks to Stefan for helping me out!
Great product! I installed these the other day on my 2013 GTI and installation was pretty straight forward and though they don't come with installation instructions you can find quite a few threads on the forums to install them properly. I'm not a skilled mechanic and was able to do them.
You can tell immediately that these mounts tighten up everything. There is very little increase in NVH and wheel slop is practically gone. I do have the billet dogbone insert with these, so I'm sure that helps aide the mounts. Shifts are crisper, even in my DSG, and you can feel the added power being delievered to the groung instead of the sloppy factory mounts. I noticed less lag in the throttle input on take-off. My guess is that the soft factory mounts soak up a lot of the power so it takes more gas to get going. I could actually move the factory mounts around in my hand. So, that pretty much tells how soft they are.
I'm very impressed with these mounts. They give that OEM+ result without sacrificing comfort in your daily driver. They do a great job in eliminating the jerkiness and lunging feeling of the engine while up-shifting or downshifting under load. If I had any suggestions they could be just very slightly stiffer. Maybe a 65A in hardness. Will like to see how these hold up over time and once they settle more. Thanks Sam from customer support for helping me get these to my doorstep! Excellent service from 034 Motorsport!
These mounts are fantastic. The street density is the perfect amount of stiffness to lessen wheel hop during stress driving and in cabin vibrations are very minimal while daily driving. Highly recommend this product to anyone looking for something stiffer than stock without sacrificing quality or money.
Installation was very easy as they install exactly as the OEM mounts.
